The white lotus, a legendary artifact rumored to contain the very secrets of the soul, granted its wielder otherworldly power. Countless powerful Magi from all across the universe waged an epic battle over it.

As of the time of the comment I am about to read chapter 248. I have been reading this webnovel for 3 days straight now. And so far so good. It is like reading a Harry Potter book that is written not for kids but for young adults. (Spoiled alert. Stop here if you don't like spoilers) I like the fact that the author had created a multi dimensional and interplanetary settings for unlimited story telling in the foreseable future. I am sure this would easily give leeway for him/her/them to expound and develop the characters and thicken the plot. Humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, orcs, aliens, spiritual beasts, magical beasts, dragons, magics, runes, heck even laws of physics were mentioned here. If is not boring. If there is something that I would like the author to touch is his family background, his encounter with the magi that led him to pursue magic and also discuss the life of the previous owner of the lotus. And I am sure one of these topics will easily give us 50-200 chapters.

Well i am having some difficulty rating this novel overall this is good but some aspects are bad like how something's are basically forgotten or not detailed enough if you ask me i will say its 6/10 bcz mc is naive compared to (warlock of the Magus world) that novel,s mc was badass unlike this one I know this novel mc is one of those chosen characters but he is a bit naive

For everyone who want a review (100chp) First of all the general aspect of the story From the title you know It's about a kid (with high fortune) found a white lotus (his cheating system) and so he's on his way to become the elden lord The white lotus comes from a great magus that for unknown reasons got attacked and die (Smth is missing with the idea of attacking the greatest magus bcz of an item) From the beginning chapters you will know if this is your cup of tea The mc is an orphan and got bullied but he take revenge very quickly (here comes the first problem..why the hell he attacked a nobel kid and more why the hell a nobel kid is without guardians) The academy test was just like what you would expect from a cultivation novel (breaking the records and gets attention from the teachers) For some reason the side characters are few and they're so normal written The combat is magic with martial arts 7/10 mid Novel Read for fun only

Thanks but the thing I’m curious about is the read for fun at the bottom like do you read competitively or something????

      Reply
      • Vaudas 8

I mean.. you could do that yk... reading competitive is fun but you don't get very immersed in it and won't understand as much, so reading for fun or genuine interest, pass time or as a poison tester 🙂‍↕️ is better being a poison tester is painful (as you expect), but you can land on gold sometimes

Reading out of genuine interest is different from reading for fun albeit the same. Reading a novel that is well written is more fun and enjoyable than reading something mid which is why he is saying you should just read it for fun or as I say, "to pass time".

In short he's a character who managed to give reader's ptsd any time he was mentioned ,got the entire block skipping town when he popped up. Personally I feel like he makes schemers like Aizen look cute in comparison

I can agree with you there bro 🤝 Amon is the one and only being (expect mushroom king but that's a minor trauma that already disappeared) who is capable of traumatising me to this level, heck it's increasing instead of f*ck*ng decreasing 😭😭

I read up to chapter 200 and dropped. For anyone reading this, expect a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies. For example, the protagonist is an orfan( since i think it was 5) who lived in a cruel world where the strong prey on the weak, and he managed, somehow, survive to late teens when he enrolls in an academy. You might expect him to be someone more careful, decisive, who values the things and opportunities he got and THINKS BEFORE HE ACTS, but you would be wrong. He is as much of a young master as the actual young masters of the stories, with the only 3 differences being his lack of etiquite, his"moral" standing and a money obsessed personality. There are times when the plot armor is so obvious and thick that i wonder why didnt the author just straight up write "plot armor here". The only decent things are fights descriptions and the writing. The story is just an amalgamation of every possible cultivation novel cliche you can think of.

He is the main antagonist kind of character in lord of the mysteries, he is an incredibly written character and the cover of this story looks an awful lot like him.

Has anyone every wondered how to say Magus? People always say it like "magg-us", but I have also heard "mei-gus". Personally, I like "ma-jews" or "ma-juice"

it's 100% either may-giss [ˈmeɪɡəs] or (latin) may-goos [ˈmäɡʊs̠], hard g. I mean look, if people understand, they understand. To-may-to tom-ah-to and all.

I've read the first 269 ch, and here's what I think. MC: 7.5/10 (I like his playful personality) PLOT: 7/10 (it's quite an interesting plot) WORLD-BUILDING: 7/10 (good enough) ROMANCE: N/A (up to this point, everyone except the mc, has a partner, so...) Rating: 7.5/10 COMMENT: A good novel perfect for passing the time. For readers of martial world, LOTM, and Harry Potter, you'll find many common elements, probably because the author was inspired by these works, but that doesn't diminish its value. The MC, as well as all the other characters, are interesting, the plot is good, and the writing is smooth. There are some chapters that left me a little disappointed, but overall it's a novel worth reading. Give it a chance, you might like it.
